The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance exercise that will temporarily disrupt power supply to parts of the Accra East Region on Friday, October 2. According to the utility provider, the exercise is part of efforts to improve service delivery and enhance the reliability of electricity supply to customers in the affected areas. In a notice issued on Wednesday, September 30, ECG said the maintenance works would be carried out between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
The affected locations include parts of Oyarifa, Ayimensah, Prisons Training School, School Junction and University Farms, as well as adjoining communities. ECG advised residents, businesses and institutions within the affected areas to take note of the scheduled interruption and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the exercise.
The company explained that the temporary outage was necessary to facilitate planned maintenance works aimed at improving the quality and reliability of electricity services. “ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery. This will result in a temporary outage,” the notice stated. ECG apologised to customers in the affected communities for any inconvenience the planned exercise may cause.
