The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has introduced the inaugural GFA Colts Awards as part of the 2026/27 Colts Football Season, creating a new platform to recognise and celebrate outstanding contributions to grassroots football across the country. GFA President and CAF 2nd Vice-President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, announced the awards scheme during the official launch of the 2026/27 Colts Football Season at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The initiative forms part of the Association’s broader efforts to strengthen the Colts football system and recognise the individuals, clubs and stakeholders whose dedication continues to contribute to the development of young footballers at the grassroots level. The GFA Colts Awards will honour outstanding players, coaches, clubs, officials and other key contributors who have distinguished themselves through exceptional performances, commitment and service to Colts football.
For the first time, the awards will provide a dedicated platform to celebrate excellence across the different levels of the Colts football structure, while also highlighting the vital role grassroots stakeholders play in nurturing young talent and sustaining community-based football.
The inaugural GFA Colts Awards therefore represent a significant milestone in the history of Colts football in Ghana, celebrating the collective efforts of players, coaches, clubs, officials and other stakeholders who continue to help shape the future of Ghanaian football.
