New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has congratulated the party’s newly elected national executives following Saturday’s national elections held in Kumasi. In a statement issued on Sunday, October 4, Dr Bawumia said the elections marked the completion of the party’s reorganisation ahead of the 2028 presidential election. He described the exercise as peaceful and transparent, noting that the results reflected the will of the party’s delegates.
“The outcome, therefore, reflects the wishes of the delegates of the New Patriotic Party,” he said. The former Vice President congratulated the newly elected executives and expressed confidence that the John Boadu-led leadership would immediately begin preparations to return the party to power in 2028.
“It is the expectation of the rank and file of the party that the John Boadu-led National Executives will commence the process of preparing the party for the election in 2028,” Dr Bawumia stated.
He also pledged his support for the new leadership, particularly in its efforts to build an inclusive campaign that harnesses the experience, expertise and talents of members across the party. “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his part has committed to providing the necessary support to the new leadership to run an inclusive system that allows all the talents in the party to be harnessed for victory in 2028,” the statement added.
Dr Bawumia stressed that no member of the party should be sidelined as the NPP prepares for the next general election. “In victory or in defeat, no talent should be left out in the 2028 campaign,” he added.
