The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has implemented a simulator testing system to improve the driver’s license testing process. This innovative system will assess prospective applicants in a virtual environment, evaluating their responses to various road-related scenarios.
During a press briefing held in Accra on Monday, October 12, DVLA Chief Executive Officer Julius Neequaye Kotey stated that the new system is crucial for today’s driving landscape, where vehicles are becoming more advanced and road activity is on the rise. He explained that the simulator will present applicants with diverse road situations in a virtual setting, allowing the DVLA to evaluate their reactions and decision-making skills before they receive their licenses to drive on real roads.
This initiative is part of the DVLA’s broader reforms aimed at enhancing road safety, modernising the licensing process, and ensuring that drivers are well-prepared for actual driving conditions.
