Founder and Apostle General of Royalhouse Chapel International, Sam Korankye Ankrah, has urged women to be cautious about entering relationships with abusive or narcissistic partners, stressing the importance of recognising early warning signs.
Speaking on Upside Down on Sunday, October 4, 2026, he noted that some abusive men may initially appear respectable, well-educated and well-mannered, making it difficult for women to identify troubling behaviours before committing to a relationship.
He explained that such individuals could gradually erode their partners’ confidence and subject them to verbal, emotional and physical abuse after marriage. “People who are abusive, the narcissistic man, sociopath and psychopath, they look genuine, they speak well, dress well and are well educated,” he said.
According to Mr Korankye Ankrah, one of the major challenges in dealing with narcissistic individuals is their refusal to acknowledge that they have a problem, making counselling, prayer and other interventions difficult. He said such individuals often believe they are always right while blaming others for problems, which can make it difficult for partners and family members to help them change.
Against this backdrop, he urged women to take early signs of anger and abusive behaviour seriously instead of assuming such conduct would disappear over time.
“I want to let the women know that such men are growing in the numbers and so watch out for the red flags. Any slight anger issues, pull the brakes, hold on, wait for a long time,” he cautioned. He warned that troubling behavioural patterns that emerge early in a relationship could become increasingly difficult to address later.
Mr Korankye Ankrah therefore encouraged women to prioritise their safety and wellbeing by distancing themselves from abusive partners rather than remaining in relationships in the hope that their partners would eventually change.
