The National Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has convened an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) to discuss the Association’s audited accounts. A notice issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, and signed by the General Secretary, Dominic Hlordzi, said the meeting was called by a decision of the National Executive in accordance with Article 35(a)(i) of the GJA Constitution, 2004.
The meeting is scheduled for November 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra. According to the notice, the agenda will include the presentation and discussion of the Association’s audited accounts, as well as any other matters raised by the National Council or individual members.
The National Executive has urged all members to attend and participate actively in the meeting, noting that it presents an opportunity for members to deliberate on issues relating to the Association’s financial accountability and administration. The GJA is the umbrella body for journalists in Ghana. Article 35 of its 2004 Constitution provides for the convening of an Emergency General Meeting by the National Executive to address specific urgent matters.
The consideration of audited accounts at the meeting is expected to provide members with an opportunity to examine the Association’s financial records, scrutinise its income and expenditure, and seek clarification on matters relating to its financial management. The November 6 meeting is expected to bring together GJA members from across the country at the Press Centre in Accra.
