New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Communications, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, says the party’s newly elected First Vice Chairman, Kojo Bamba, will play a significant role in strengthening grassroots mobilisation and safeguarding the party’s votes in the 2028 general election.
According to Mr Aboagye, Mr Bamba’s strong connection with the grassroots and his appeal among young people could provide an added advantage to the NPP’s leadership as it prepares for the next elections. Speaking on Eyewitness News on Monday, Mr Aboagye described Kojo Bamba as an innovative and forward-thinking politician, saying his election reflects the importance of diversity within the party’s leadership.
He said Mr Bamba has the capacity to influence and mobilise supporters at the grassroots level while bringing new ideas to the party’s operations. Mr Aboagye expressed confidence that the newly elected First Vice Chairman would play a key role in mobilising NPP supporters and ensuring that the party’s ballots are adequately protected during the 2028 polls.
He said the issue of ballot protection has gained renewed importance following the party’s experience in the 2024 general election. According to him, the NPP has identified weaknesses from the 2024 elections and intends to address them to prevent similar challenges in 2028.
Mr Aboagye said Kojo Bamba’s commitment during his campaign to strengthening the party’s structures and protecting its votes would therefore be an important responsibility under the NPP’s new leadership. He further emphasised the need for the party to have executives with diverse skills, backgrounds and constituencies, arguing that such diversity could enhance the NPP’s grassroots mobilisation and organisational strength ahead of the 2028 elections.
