The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced a three-day Documentation and Body Selection Exercise for qualified applicants participating in the 2026/2027 Enlistment Exercise. The exercise represents the next phase of the recruitment process following the closure of the online application period last Wednesday. The Documentation and Body Selection Exercise will begin today and continue through Wednesday at designated centres across the Northern and Southern sectors.
According to the GAF, qualified applicants will receive text messages containing details of the exercise, including their assigned centres and reporting instructions. Applicants who receive the notification are required to report to their designated centres on the specified dates and comply with all instructions issued by the Ghana Armed Forces.
Centres
For applicants in the Northern Sector, the exercise will take place at the 4 Infantry Battalion, Uaddara Barracks, Kumasi. Those assigned to the Southern Sector are required to report to Nicholson Stadium at the Air Force Base in Accra. The GAF has advised all qualified candidates to carefully observe their scheduled dates, designated venues, and the instructions provided to them as they continue through the recruitment process.

Last year, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) was compelled to review its safety protocols for the Documentation and Body Selection Exercise after a stampede at some designated centres resulted in multiple casualties. The exercise, which was the first of its kind in some time, was temporarily suspended following the incidents.
Officials attributed some of the delays and confusion to the overwhelming number of applicants, which reportedly affected Internet connectivity at the venues. When the exercise resumed a week later, the GAF introduced several measures to improve safety and streamline the process. These included the establishment of multiple screening sub-centres across five locations to better manage the large number of applicants.
