Gospel minister and Senior Pastor of Zoe Household Global, Pastor Adedolapo Lawal, popularly known as Pastor Dalopo Lawal or PD, has urged Christians not to allow pastors or spiritual leaders to make marriage decisions for them. Speaking on Kingdom Boiz Media, Pastor Dalopo said while pastoral counsel can provide valuable guidance in relationships and marriage, the ultimate responsibility for choosing a life partner should remain with the individual.
“No pastor should pick a wife or a husband for you because leadership is not control,” he said. The pastor stressed that seeking advice from a spiritual leader should not mean surrendering personal responsibility for making important life decisions. According to him, Christians should be cautious about allowing spiritual authority, pressure or manipulation to influence major personal choices, particularly decisions concerning marriage.
Pastor Dalopo emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between spiritual guidance and individual responsibility. He noted that pastors can offer counsel and direction, but should not assume ownership of decisions that ultimately belong to the individuals involved.
Pastor Dalopo is the lead pastor of Zoe Household Global, a Christian ministry with branches in Atlanta, United States, and Lagos, Nigeria. He is also a teacher of the Word and Gospel minister known for communicating Christian teachings through contemporary, digital-age platforms.
