NSA Releases 2026/27 National Service Postings for 70,072 Personnel

The National Service Authority (NSA) has released postings for 70,072 National Service Personnel as the first batch for the 2026/2027 national service year. The postings were released on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, following the completion of the initial validation and registration processes for prospective personnel.

According to the Authority, 149,907 prospective National Service Personnel were submitted through the registration process. Of that number, 95,689 were successfully verified, while 95,197 completed their registration.

The 70,072 personnel selected in the first batch are expected to access their postings through the NSA’s website and complete the required regional validation and registration exercise, which will run from Thursday, October 1 to Thursday, October 15, 2026.

In a statement signed by its Director-General, Ruth Dela Sedoh, the Authority said registration for the 2026/2027 national service year would begin on Thursday, October 1 and end on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The NSA further directed all National Service Personnel to report to their respective departments, institutions and agencies from Monday, October 5, 2026, to commence their service.

It also announced that monthly evaluation forms for personnel in the subvented category will be made available on its portal from the 15th to the 20th of every month. The forms are required for the submission of monthly evaluations, which are linked to the payment of allowances. For October 2026, however, the evaluation forms will remain accessible until October 25.

The Authority also reminded eligible individuals of the legal requirement to undertake national service. Under Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), a person qualifies to undertake national service if they are a Ghanaian citizen who have completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution. The NSA cautioned employers against employing individuals who are required to undertake national service but have not done so, unless such persons are legally exempted from the requirement.

Employers who fail to comply with the national service requirement may face an administrative penalty of 5,000 penalty units. Additionally, individuals who obtain employment without completing their national service may be required to fulfil this obligation.

The National Service Authority (NSA) also stated that the Registrar of Companies will not register the company, partnership, or business name of anyone who is required to complete national service but has not done so, unless they have been exempted by law. The Authority urges all potential recruits to adhere to the registration, validation, and reporting requirements to ensure their successful deployment.
