The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region has reported that approximately 830 candidates have picked up nomination forms to contest various positions in the upcoming regional elections. In an interview with Channel One News, the party’s Deputy Director of Elections, Mahdi Gibril, stated that the stage for picking up nomination forms has concluded, allowing candidates to proceed with the filing process.
“About 830 aspirants have collected forms to contest for different positions. Most of the current executives have also picked up nominations,” he explained. Mr. Gibril emphasized that candidates must now pay their filing fees and submit their documents through the party’s online platform.
Those who successfully complete the online process will need to physically submit their full nomination documents to the Election Committee between October 14 and 15. The online platform remains available for candidates who have picked up nomination forms but have not yet paid their filing fees or completed the online submission process.
