The strike by the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has begun, causing disruptions at various court locations nationwide. The Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Accra Circuit Court, and several District Court offices have been closed, with security personnel blocking access to these premises.
Reports from Citi News indicate that security officers have been instructed not to open the gates. At some court entrances, red cloth has been tied to signal the association’s concerns and draw attention to the strike. JUSAG is undertaking this action to demand the payment of outstanding revised salary arrears that date back to January 2026.
In response, Judicial Secretary Musah Ahmed has urged the association to end the strike, stating that management has been engaged in high-level negotiations with relevant government stakeholders to resolve the outstanding issues.
