Mahama had a second opportunity—Bawumia should have the same – Kennedy Osei Nyarko

Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for Akim Swedru, has stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia deserves an opportunity to lead Ghana, similar to the chance given to President John Dramani Mahama by Ghanaian voters. In a post on Facebook, the legislator said Ghanaians should apply the same principle of giving political leaders an opportunity to contribute to the country’s development. “If Ghanaians could give President Mahama, who happens to be a former president of this country, another chance to lead this country once again, then Dr. Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumia equally deserves same chance and the opportunity to lead this country,” he wrote.

According to Kennedy Osei Nyarko, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has yet to be given the opportunity by Ghanaians to serve as President of the country. The Akim Swedru Member of Parliament contrasted this with former President John Dramani Mahama, who previously served as President before making a political comeback and securing another mandate from the electorate.

He said Dr Bawumia was yet to be elected President by the Ghanaian people, unlike President Mahama, who had already served the country in that capacity before his return to office. The MP further stressed the need to give every Ghanaian an equal opportunity to contribute to the country’s development. “Every Ghanaian deserves an equal chance to contribute their quota in building this country,” he said.
