Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on all aspirants in the party’s constituency executive elections to accept the outcome and work together to build a stronger NDC. Addressing the Ketu North Constituency Delegates Conference in Weta, Volta Region, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah explained that he intentionally refrained from participating in constituency elections nationwide to avoid influencing delegates or appearing to support specific candidates.
He emphasised that his role as National Chairman requires him to be impartial, so he can help reconcile members and foster party unity after the elections, regardless of the results. “Everyone in the NDC is my friend and family,” he stated. “If I single out a few as friends, it would imply the rest are not, but I consider you all my friends.”
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah encouraged those who were not elected not to see their loss as a rejection, reminding them that only one person can serve in a position at a time. He urged them to stay committed to the party, assuring them that there would be other opportunities to serve in the future. He also asked delegates to let the most suitable candidates emerge and appealed to all aspirants to accept the results graciously.
“What is important is not who wins, but the manner in which they win and how we come together as a party after the elections,” he added. Mr. Asiedu Nketiah expressed optimism that the NDC would emerge even stronger from the elections if members remained united.
