President John Dramani Mahama is expected to cut the sod in the coming weeks for the construction of three 160-bed Regional Referral Hospitals in the Oti, Savannah and Western North Regions. Government Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced this in a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 22, as he shared the architectural design for the proposed Regional Referral Hospital in the Oti Region.
According to the Minister, the projects form part of the government’s broader efforts to expand critical healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality medical services across the country. He said the Oti facility, in particular, will help strengthen the region’s healthcare system and provide residents with improved access to specialised and referral services.
The planned sod-cutting ceremonies for the three hospitals will signal the commencement of projects aimed at increasing the capacity of the health sector to deliver specialised and referral care in the Oti, Savannah and Western North Regions. Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the initiative reflects President Mahama’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and forms part of the government’s wider development agenda.
