NDC Sets Filing Fees at GH¢100,000 for Chairman Aspirants, GH¢80,000 for General Secretary Hopefuls

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has approved filing fees for aspirants seeking various national executive positions, with the National Chairman position attracting the highest fee of GH¢100,000. The approved fee schedule covers 14 positions within the party, including the National Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser, communications officers, youth and women’s organisers, and members of the National Executive Committee.

Under the arrangement, aspirants contesting for the General Secretary position will pay GH¢80,000, while those seeking the National Organiser position are required to pay GH¢70,000. The National Vice Chairman and Deputy General Secretary positions each attract a filing fee of GH¢60,000. The fees form part of the party’s preparations for its internal elections, which will determine the executives responsible for overseeing its national administration and organisational activities.

According to the approved schedule, all filing fees must be paid online through the party’s designated platform, forms.ghanandc.com. The National Chairman position remains the most expensive to contest, with a filing fee of GH¢100,000, followed by the General Secretary position at GH¢80,000. The National Organiser position attracts GH¢70,000, while aspirants seeking the National Vice Chairman and Deputy General Secretary positions are each required to pay GH¢60,000.

Aspirants for the National Communication Officer position will be required to pay a filing fee of GH¢50,000. For the positions of National Youth Organizer and National Zongo Caucus Coordinator, the fee is set at GH¢40,000 each. The deputy positions—Deputy National Organizer, Deputy National Communication Officer, and Deputy National Youth Organizer—each have a filing fee of GH¢30,000. The same fee applies to the positions of National Women’s Organizer and Deputy National Women’s Organizer, with certain considerations made for female candidates with disabilities.

Membership on the National Executive Committee has the lowest filing fee on the schedule, which is GH¢10,000. Additionally, all aspirants who wish to contest for any of the positions must pay GH¢2,000 to obtain a nomination form. The approved fee structure also provides concessions for female candidates and persons with disabilities (PWDs). Under this arrangement, both female candidates and PWDs will only need to pay 50 percent of the approved filing fees for all positions, with the exception of the National Women’s Organizer and Deputy National Women’s Organizer roles.
