The Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso has rescued nine Ghanaians, including three women, who were allegedly lured to the neighbouring country by Q-NET to participate in a Ponzi scheme. In a statement, the Embassy said the victims, who come from various parts of Ghana, were enticed to travel to Burkina Faso and recruited into the scheme.
The nine Ghanaians were repatriated on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and received by border officials and security agencies at Paga. Authorities have since begun arrangements to reunite them with their families. The Immigration Service’s Paga Sector Commander, DCI William Kwame Sabi, who received the victims at his office, cautioned them against falling for offers and opportunities that appear too good to be true.
He further advised Ghanaians to seek travel advisories from the appropriate authorities before accepting employment offers or making arrangements to travel abroad.
