The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere. The suspects have been identified as Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai. Their arrests followed investigations by the Police Missing Persons Unit. According to the Police, Nana Yaw Kyere was reported missing on September 22, 2026, after he left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19 in his Honda Civic.
In a statement issued on Monday, September 28, the Police said investigations revealed that Nana Yaw Kyere was allegedly lured to the residence of Philip Tefe at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams. The Police said Tefe and Adams later confessed to their alleged involvement and told investigators that Tefe attacked Nana Yaw Kyere during a confrontation, striking him with a metallic object and leaving him injured.
He was subsequently moved to another room and allegedly left unattended, where he later died. Investigators further established that the victim’s body was transported in a Kia Morning vehicle on September 20 to a location near the motorway, where it was allegedly dumped in a bush and set ablaze.
The partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21. The Police said Nana Yaw Kyere’s biological mother and an uncle later identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24. The three suspects remain in custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping and murder.
