The Ministry of Education has announced plans to set up a Technical Working Committee to review the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) once the current placement exercise concludes. In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 15, the Ministry explained that the review will examine all aspects of the placement process, identify areas for improvement, and recommend measures to enhance transparency and accountability. The goal, it noted, is to ensure that the CSSPS remains credible, efficient, fair, and responsive to the needs of students, parents, and schools.
The Ministry emphasised its commitment to continuous improvement, stating: ‘Following the conclusion of the current placement exercise, the Ministry will establish a Technical Working Committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the placement process.’ The announcement comes amid growing concerns from parents and students over placement challenges, as well as calls from the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference for greater transparency and accountability in the system.
