A research report by APL has projected former Member of Parliament Nana Akomea as the likely winner of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) First Vice National Chairman position. According to the report, Nana Akomea currently leads the race by 21.5 percentage points, giving him a significant advantage over his contenders as the competition for the party’s leadership position intensifies.
Nana Akomea is a veteran member of the NPP with considerable experience in politics and public service. He previously served as a Member of Parliament before becoming Director-General of the State Transport Company. He also held the position of Minister of Manpower and Youth Employment. He is particularly recognised for his role as the NPP’s Director of Communications in the period leading up to the party’s victory in the 2016 general elections.
The latest projection by APL could further boost Nana Akomea’s standing in the race as party delegates and stakeholders continue to evaluate the various candidates ahead of the election. However, the projection remains a research-based assessment, and the final outcome will be determined by votes cast by accredited NPP delegates during the party’s internal elections.
With his extensive political background, communication experience within the party, and record of public-sector leadership, Nana Akomea remains one of the leading contenders for the position of First Vice National Chairman.
