The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has urged the contractors working on the La General Hospital project to speed up their work. He dismissed payment delays as a reason for slow progress, emphasizing that the government has been making timely payments to the contractors.
He mentioned that the latest interim payment certificate has been submitted and sent to the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, Mr. Akandoh called for a review of the proposed capacity for the emergency department to ensure it meets the hospital’s needs and addresses issues related to the availability of emergency beds.
