According to Mahdi Gibril, the NDC’s Director of Elections and IT, prominent party figures Johnson Asiedu Nketiah (National Chairman) and Sammy Gyamfi (National Communications Officer) did not pick up nomination forms before the deadline for the upcoming national executive elections. In an interview with Citi News, Mr. Gibril noted that neither official had communicated any intent to run.
“These are those I know that did not pick. In any case, they did not indicate to us that they would pick,” he stated. Despite their absence, the nomination period drew a strong response, attracting 137 aspirants for 14 available positions. Mr Gibril described turnout as impressive, emphasizing the healthy ratio of candidates to open roles.
