Raymond Archer has been officially confirmed as the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), effective October 27. This announcement formalises his role after more than a year of serving in an acting capacity. The Chairman of the EOCO Board, Daniel Domelevo, made the confirmation, solidifying Mr. Archer’s leadership of the agency after he took over from Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah in August 2025.
Mr. Archer, a former investigative journalist, is expected to spearhead EOCO’s initiatives against economic and organized crime, including issues like money laundering and human trafficking. His tenure has garnered both praise and criticism; while some colleagues commend his work, others have expressed concerns about what they perceive as a heavy-handed approach to the Office’s operations.
