If Ghana’s music industry needed a lawyer to settle the latest drama between Sarkodie and Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale seemed more than ready to take on the case. The dancehall star brought some drama of his own to a recent TikTok Live session, appearing in a lawyer’s outfit as he weighed in on the ongoing back-and-forth between the two musicians.
But beneath the playful theatrics was a clear and serious verdict. Shatta Wale sided with Sarkodie and called on Stonebwoy to apologise to the rapper. According to him, Sarkodie’s post, which triggered Stonebwoy’s latest reaction, was never aimed at him in the first place.
Shatta also questioned why disagreements between artistes who have spent years in the industry continue to play out publicly. He argued that the constant exchanges do little to promote or strengthen Ghanaian music. He further reminded Stonebwoy of Sarkodie’s lengthy contribution to the music industry, stressing that the rapper’s years of hard work and influence deserve a certain level of respect.
Shatta Wale believes Stonebwoy’s frustration with Sarkodie may be linked to the close bond he shares with the rapper — the much-talked-about Shatta-Sark brotherhood. He cautioned Stonebwoy not to allow his personal issues with him to affect his relationship with Sarkodie.
“You’re pained about the Shatta-Sark brotherhood. Sarkodie is my person. Irrespective of whatever beef I have had with him, we have a special bond. Brothers fight and still continue being related. Sarkodie’s energy gels with mine. It’s why you’re jealous. Don’t let your enmity with me cause you to disrespect Sarkodie.”
And judging by Shatta Wale’s verdict in this particular case, Stonebwoy has only a few days to “do the needful” before, as the dancehall star warned, hell breaks loose.
